About CEFTA

Why we exist

Centre for Faecal Microbiota Transplantation at Aarhus University Hospital (CEFTA) was established in 2018 following a 17.2 mio DKK investment from Innovation Fund Denmark.

The aim of CEFTA is to implement FMT as a standard treatment for recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection in Denmark.

The mission is to save lives by modulating the intestinal microbiota.

Our values

  • Lives: Value is created through longer and better patient lives.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge is obtained using scientific methods, results are published in peer-reviewed journals and shared with the public.
  • Trust/transparency: All knowledge is shared; confidence through openness.
  • Accessibility: Safe, scalable, and cost-effective treatment is available to all patients.

Our vision

Saving lives through modulation of communities of intestinal microbiota.

Our mission

To develop and consolidate microbiota-based treatments of life-threatening diseases.
